Marishiten is one of the spirits (goddesses) we pray to (venerate) in Shinkan-ryu Kenpo. Prayer is a reflection of the qualities of Marishiten. As bugeisha, we should contemplate within ourselves what we need to bring within to better our minds and spirits. Emulation of the skilled warrior able to move beyond the living and the dead. To achieve our victory without wanting to be victorious.
Marishiten is placed on the altar in Renshinkan dōjō. Marishiten is astride a boar which carries Marishiten into battle without fear. She is armed with various weapons and three faces. Here she is seated in a tutoring position holding a fan with the manji and symbols for the sun. Flowing flames signify the easing of worry, pain, and suffering.
